This is a screen shot from Captain America: The First Avenger.

It looks…

It looks like a giant arc reactor.

Hydra created Cosmic-powered weapons, etc.

What if…Howard Stark, having seen all of the Hydra tech, wanted to replicate the Cosmic Cube’s infinite power and replicate parts of Hydra tech?

He left his work to Tony, because of the limits in technology during his time.

Tony…therefore…might have created a tiny knock-off Cosmic Cube (or triangle) in Iron Man 2.

**

Reblogging cos this is exactly the conversation me and my kid just had. That and the note book of Howard’s that Tony is flipping through in IM2 has a diagram of a cube front and center.

**

This has been my favorite theory for months now. Tony’s “coconut metal” New Element looks an awful lot like the Cosmic Cube radiation/light/energy/whatever you want to call it. Howard probably discovered it while testing the Tesseract, and decades later, Tony, having the technology to replicate it, did so.

Which means Tony is walking around with the Cosmic Cube in his chest.

YOU GUYS I CANT EVEN.

And something I always noticed, but hadn’t put together until now… All the weapons that Hydra uses? They make the EXACT SAME SOUNDS as the suit makes when it’s firing through the repulsors.

**

Oh snap.

The kid is rewatching Capt Am and he just came in and said ‘so before he sleeps with Tony’ (yup my kid is that cool) ‘they’re already stealing his tech sounds?’

**

Pretty much!

(Your kid is awesome, by the way.)

The sound effects are also the same (I believe) as the first movie, so Tony (and, in essence, Howard as well) had already started tapping into that tech but hadn’t perfected it. Until he finds the new element.

Oh, Marvel. SO SNEAKY.

EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT. You should’ve seen me in the theater when I saw this movie. I was bouncing all over the place because of all the Iron Man connections. The blue color is the same. The SOUND is the same. AND ITS ALL CONNECTED AND I LOVES IT.
