The last few episodes, we’ve always seen Castle reaching out to Beckett - the signed cast photo, “I was thinking”, her mom’s scholarship, her mom’s case - in fact, it’s consistent to say that Castle is the one reaching out more often than not. It’s rare that Beckett steps out on a limb.
But now the tables have turned - there’s more back and forth. Not only did Beckett reach out tonight by basically telling him he was coming to watch this movie with her, she was over the top excited. It was like she was allowed to fulfill the excitement that left her lingering at the end of last week’s episode. PLUS, Beckett reached out to Castle at the end of The Final Nail offering to take him out for a drink.
There is more back and forth with them. There’s more give and take. It’s not just one-sided. And that my friends is the game changer. They’re inching closer and closer to being on the same page. They’re inching closer and closer to being in the same place. They’re inching closer and closer to being together.
And Andrew Marlowe, sir, you are doing it right. You. Are. Doing. It. Right. And we thank you for that.
