“You’re tired, Castle. Why don’t you go get some rest?”
This was a huge Beckett moment. When it comes to her mothers case she tries to be strong and never show emotion about it (although at times she has failed in being so strong). Castle knows that and he respects that. When she said she needed a minute, he gave it to her. She told him to go home, he went home. He loves her and he respects her enough to let her get trough this. Beckett is a strong female, one of the strongest female characters I’ve ever seen, and she’s very complex. She’s not the type to be like “uh oh it’s Bracken, Castle come here and hold me while I cry” That’s never been Beckett, and that’s never going to be Beckett, and that’s probably one of the things Castle loves the most about her. Of course, I would LOVE more Caskett moments. Is there any fan who wouldn’t?! I would love to see them comforting each other, and I know they will get the chance to. When it comes to her mom’s case, Beckett is learning to let Castle in, and she’s learning that she has him as a support system that will always be there. She talked to him about everything in this episode, but even just this^ little moment was enough for me. Because it shows that she’s still strong yet she’s still learning. Beckett is showing just enough affection when it comes to dealing with her mom’s case, but not over-doing it to the point where she’s making this all about her and what she’s going though. I loved this episode, and this moment. And that is all.
but heres the thing about this scene specifically… she only did this AFTER she hid the letter. but, it all came around full circle when she told him about it. and THAT is the important part. i’m glad she told him… she just needed a minute to process, and i think she knew that. its not perfect, because she really should’ve told him immediately and heard his take on it, but she’s getting there. she is. old beckett would’ve never said a thing.
